Belding Banner-News - Thursday April 29, 1965

                                 HERMAN F.RUSSELL

Herman F.Russell, age 69 of 610 Root St., died at his residence Monday morning 
after an illness of four months.

Mr.Russell was born at Baroda, MichiganSeptember 10, 1895 and lived his earlier 
years in Mason County, He was married to the former Elaine Lake on September 5, 
1923 and came to Belding that year.

A World War I Veteran, he had been custodian at the Ionia County court House 
from 1950 to 1960, He was with the old Belding Basket factory from 1923 to 1943 
and held that position of foreman of the machine department. He was the father 
of Lyle Russell, Belding Police Officer.

Surviving are the widow, Elaine; two sons, Calvin of Springfield, Ill. and Lyle 
of Belding; one daughter, Louise Russell at home; eight grandchildren; three 
nieces; and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday,(today)at 2 pm from the Fitzjohn-Courser 
Funeral Home with the Rev.Robert Lilly of First Baptist church officiating. 
Burial will be in River Ridge Cemetery.
