The deceased was born in Monroe county, New York, February 1at, 1826.When he was nineteen years of age he came to this township which was then new and has lived here ever since making him one of the old pioneers. He was married twice, the firs time, in 1951, he was married to Miss Irene Haskins, who died six months later.In 1856 he was married to Miss Lucinda Sickles. To this union four children were born, two of whom are still living, Fred Russell and MRs.Ethel Main. He has always taken an active part in the public affairs of the township being elected Supervisor several times which office he filled successively. He will be greatly missed in his neighborhood as a good neighbor, an honest and upright citizen. His funeral was preached by Elder Garlick at the M.E.Church in Lake Odessa and all that was mortal of him who has lived among us so long was laid to rest in Lakeside Cemetery.
