The Portland Observer, Thursday, September 21, 1922
The death of Mrs. Henrietta Russell occurred at the home of her granddaughter, 
Mrs. Frank Jenkins, Sunday, at the ripe old age of 89 years.  Funeral services 
were held from the residence Tuesday, and her remains laid to rest in Portland 
cemetery.

Mrs. Russell was born at Ypsilanti, March 12, 1833.  Her maiden name was 
Henrietta Thornton.  She was married to Mr. Russell at Belding 71 years ago 
and came to Portland 35 years ago, following the death of her husband.  Since 
coming here she had made her home with her granddaughter, Mrs. Jenkins.

She leaves four grandchildren, Mrs. Frank Jenkins, Mrs. Nettie Selleck, both 
of Portland, and Mrs. C. D. Tomy and Clarence Smith of Detroit.
