He had been in ill health since October of last year. He was born September 13, 1886 in Allegan county and resided in Kalkaska until 1912 when he moved to Belding and to Muir in 1944. From 1944 until his retirement in 1959 he was employed at Ionia Manufacturing company as a spray painter. Previous to that he had been engaged in farming. Mr. Russell was married at Fife Lake February 10, 1912 to Amy Adell Browne who survives. Other survivors include a son, Seth Russell of Pewamo; one stepson, Bernie Browne of Belding; and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Rena Fox of Belding and Mrs. Grace Nevins of Lansing. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian church in Muir with the Rev. H. S. Ellis of Cedar Springs officiating. Music will be by Diane Estep. Burial will be at Muir cemetery. Bearers, grandsons of Mr. Russell, will be Melvin Browne, Marvin Browne, Delmar Browne, and Vernon Browne, all of Belding, Calvin Miller of Ionia and Leo Waterman of Lyons.
