Russman, 83, of Portland died Jan. 19, 2000. She was born in Lansing, Oct. 27, 1916, the daughter of Peter and Bertha (Tonn) Schneider. Mrs. Russman was a member of St. Patrick Church in Portland and the Altar Society. She attended many of her grandchildren’s sporting events and loved reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards, gardening, cooking, and canning. Surviving are children, Marie DeBaldo, Joe (Peggy), John (Mary), James (Lynda), Janie Schrauben, Fred H. “Fritz” (Anne), Kathie (Don) Chamberlain, and Tom (Kathy) Russman, all of Portland; 31 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Arlene Zanto and Thelma Russman; brother-in- law, Bill (Marilyn) Koster; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo (1997). Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 22 by the Rev. Charles D. Hall at St. Patrick Church. Rite of Committal followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia. Contributions may be made to the Fr.
