JOYCE E. RUTZ 1941- 2016
Joyce E. Rutz, age 75 of Ionia and formerly of Saranac, passed away Aug. 5, 2016 
in Grand Rapids. She was born April 26, 1941 in Ionia, Michigan the daughter of 
Francis "Swede" and Meta (Wentland) Zander. Joyce married Edward Rutz April 23, 
1960 in Ionia. She was a member of the Ionia Hospital Guild and a past Village 
Secretary for Saranac.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Edward Rutz of Ionia; 
daughters, Debra (Walter) Maciejewski of Gowen, Barbara (David) hHrdy of 
Saranac, Tracvy (Lorren) Denman of Muir and darcie (Joel) Smith of Saranac; 
brothers, Gary Zander of Ionia and Gale (Leona) Zander of Orleans; step sister, 
Patrece (Gary) VanVleck of Ionia; grandchildren, Walter "Richie" Maciejewski, 
Melissa Maciejewski, Alisha (Dusty) Martin, Jason (Kathryn) Hardy, Tara (Travis) 
Decker, Andrea Wojcik, Derek Denman, Calvin Denman, Lucas Smith and Colby Smith; 
and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Dennis and sister Linda 
Agostini.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 8 at Shiloh Community church 
with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment Saranac cemetery. Visitation 
will be held Monday 10 AM until time of service at the church. Arrangements by 
Lake Funeral Home of Saranac. Memorial contributions may be made to Relay for
