He was born November 24, 1964, in Ionia,Michigan, to the late Ted Rux and Beverly (Zemke) Lindberg. Ted graduated from Ionia High School with the class of 1983.Marrying his high school sweetheart, Crystal Rux, the same years. Their marriage lasted 26 years. He proudly served his country for nearly four years in the United States Navy in San Diego, Ca. Ted had a passion for refinishing antiques, and finding hidden treasures.Upon returning to Michigan, he turned that passion into a business opportunity when he opened his own antique store in Saranac, MI.He owned the shop for 14 years before opening a party store-in his hometown of Lyons,MI.He passed his knowledge of antiques to his children through traveling the state doing antique shows, auctions, and estate sales. He loved traveling the state with his family and friends.With Ontonagon, MI holding a special place in his heart. Survivors include his children, Michael Rux, Constance Garcia and honorary son Mike Calkin; Grandchildren, Jackson, Penelope and Melody Garcia; sisters, Diana Rux and Michelle Bohem; and his multiple nieces, nephews whom he loved. The family acknowledges his friends who were like family to him, and will carry on his memory. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Ted Sr., and Beverly Lindberg. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Clearstream Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Hastings for their care and compassion they have sown during Ted's time there and to Corewell Health Hospice for their help throughout this difficult time.
