March 7, 1946 Victor Ryckaert Dies After Illness of Several Years Victor Ryckaert, 73, died Monday evening at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Codding, west of the village. He had been in ill health for several years. Funeral services were held from Banfield Funeral home to St. Patrick Catholic church Thursday morning at 9:30, and burial was in Portland. Bearers were Fred Shindorf, William Leyrer, Ben Goodman, Riley Sandborn. Mr. Ryckaert came to the vicinity in 1936 from Wisconsin, and had worked in the vicinity as a bricklayer and plaster mason. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Carl Riker and Mrs. George Codding, of Portland, and a son, Joseph Ryckaert, and several grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Ramont, lives in Lansing.
