He was born April 23, 1885 in Sibford Gower, Oxford, England, the son of Reuben and Eliza Sabin. Mr. Sabin came to Detroit in 1902 and married the former Agnes Duncan in 1910. She preceded him in death in 1965. They came to Pewamo in 1930 where he was a farmer and agent for Standard Oil Company. Mr. Sabin was a former councilman and village president in Pewamo and past worshipful master of the Pewamo lodge F&AM and a life member of the Lyons lodge F&AM as well as a member of St. John’s Episcopal church in Ionia. Survivors include two sons, George of Matherton and Harry of Lansing; two daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Myrtle) Rasumssen of East Detroit and Mrs. Frank (Marion) Jarvis of Spring Lake; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services are Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Hull memorial chapel with Father Richard Cooper, priest in charge of St. John’s Episcopal church officiating. Burial is in East Plains cemetery. A Requiem eucharist will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Episcopal church.
