Death was caused by a heart ailment. Mr. Sage was born at Smyrna, July 7, 1881, and was about 12 years old when he came to Ionia with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sage. He operated a trucking business and later a taxi service, which he was forced to discontinue about three years ago because of ill health. He was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth Luscombe of Lyons in 1901, and she with their four children survive. They are: Mrs. Francis Patrick, of South Ionia; Mrs. Delbert Landon of Grand Rapids; Ivan Sage of Eaton Rapids, and Dale Sage of Ionia. Also six grandchildren. Funeral was from Bradley Funeral home at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, with burial at Lyons. Pall bearers were Herbert Ross, Lloyd Burger, Clarence Balcom, Ora Shattuck, Thos. Rich and August Dreger.
