Ionia Sentinel Standard, 16 Sep 1968

Mrs. Elizabeth M. Sage, 83, of 201 East Main, died early Sunday morning at 
Ionia Manor after being a patient there the past three years.  She was born in 
Lyons, February 8, 1885 the daughter of Henry and Mary Morgan Luscombe, and 
attended school there.  Upon completion of school she was married to Samuel 
Sage, April 23, 1902.  They made their home in Lyons until 1905 at which time 
they moved to Ionia, and after her husband died in 1942 she purchased and 
operated Sage’s apartments on East Main.  She is a member of First United 
Methodist church and the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sons, Ivan of Eaton Rapids and Dale of Ionia; two 
daughters, Mrs. Luella Patrick of Ionia and Mrs. Delbert M. Landon of Grand 
Rapids; 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Boynton’s funeral home with Rev. 
Lester C. Bailey officiating.  Interment will be at Lyons cemetery.  Family 
will be at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
