Ionia Sentinel Standard, 24 Jun 1981

Ella E. Sage, 90, of 642 Baird St., Ionia, died early Tuesday.  She was born
Nov. 4, 1890, in Ionia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick A. Piper.  She
married Ulmont Sage.  He died April 29, 1950.  She was a member of the First
Christian Church.

She is survived by one son-in-law, Gerard Perry, of Ionia; one sister, Lila
Burke, of Detroit; one brother, Fred Piper, of Ionia; a granddaughter, Mrs. Pat
Letts, of Ionia; and one grandson, Phil Perry, of Ionia.  Preceding her in death
were daughter Bernice Perry, granddaughter Bethany Bray, brothers Asa, Vern and
Roy Piper, and sister Mrs. Emma Bensinger.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Myers Roetman Funeral Home with
the Rev. Ron Dow officiating.  Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.  The
family will be at the funeral home today from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and from 7
p.m. until 9 p.m.  Memorials will be to the First Christian Church and may be
left at the funeral home.
