He was born April 26, 1872, at Newcastle, Pa., and was married to Miss Lizzie Brace at Troy, Mich., in 1900. After living for a short time in Oakland county and Evanston, Ill., they moved to Cooks Corners and Mr. Sage was a finisher at the Belding-Hall refrigerator factory 14 years. Sixteen years ago he opened a store at Cooks Corners and operated the same until his health failed and he sold out a year ago. He was a member of the Forester lodge in Detroit and the Equitable Reserve Association. Besides the widow he is survived by three sons, Frederick of Pontiac, Russell of Cooks Corners and Cpl. I. Brace of the U.S. army, who is on his way home; also three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Andville of Boyne City, Mrs. Maude Boyer of Newcastle, Pa. and Mrs. May Staley of Pontiac; three grandchildren, Pvt. Harold Sage of the U.S. marines, located on Guam, Russell, Jr., and John Edward. Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Friday at the Ellis Funeral home, Rev. H. S. Ellis officiating, and burial will be in Otisco cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold Updike, Watkin Ravell, Si. O’Connor, Lee Heliker, Herb Ross and Richard Dietz.
