Ionia Weekly Standard - Friday, Dec. 9, 1892

David Sage, of Easton, died Saturday evening, of paralysis, at the age of 87. The 
funeral was held Monday morning, at the residence, near S.A. Yeomans', which has 
been his home for thirty-five years. The services were conducted by Chaplain A.J. 
Eldred, of S.H. of C.; Interment in Highland Park. Mr. Sage was a man of high 
character and of a social and kindly disposition that made him many friends. He 
has been very feeble for several years and rarely, if ever, left the home 
premises, so that his acquaintance has narrowed in these days; but many of the 
older residents remember him as one worthy of high esteem, and will add his name 
to the worthy friends gone before whom they hope to meet on the other shore.
