Ionia Sentinel Standard - September 8, 1987

                              GRACE SAGE

IONIA- Grace Sage,97, of Ionia died Saturday at Ionia County Memorial Hospital.

The daughter of William and Catherine Felbel Bowman, she was born Jan. 30, 1890, 
in Lansing. At 6 years of age she moved to Lyons and attended Lyons Public 
Schools.

She was married to George L. Sage June 15, 1910, in Ionia. She spent 37 years on 
their farm on Stone Road.She was a member of the First Baptist church of Ionia, 
its CCW Class, Associated Baptist Women, and Ionia Senior Citizens. She was also 
a member of Pewamo Order of Eastern Star and the Lyons Women's relief Corps.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.Floyd (Arlene) Trumble of Fenwick; eight 
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Emma Sage of 
Saranac; and a sister, Mabel Fitch of Hastings.

Her husband George preceded her in death in 1965 and son Wayne in 1900.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Rich Street Chapel of 
Montgomery-Cook Funeral Home, with the rev. Timothy Gillette officiating.

A Memorial has been established for the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund,in 
care of the funeral home.
