Ron was born in Ionia,MI on May 3, 1946, to the parents of Emma (Buck) and Wayne Sage.Graduating from Saranac High School in 1964, he was drafted into the U.S.Army, serving his country from 1965-1967 during the Vietnam era, stationed in Germany. May 3, 1969, Ron married his true love Sandra Clinto. After 35 years, he retired from General Motors. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sandie; children, Kristine (Mark) Stedman, Wayne (Karen) Sage; grandchildren, Clayton Stedman,(Pauline), Brennan Stedman (Halle),Ashlin Stedman, Kennedy Sage; and great-grandson,Myles Stedman. Ron also leaves behind his brother, Doug (Anita) Sage, sister, Marylin (Patrick) Sage brother's-in-law, Gary Clinton, Mark Clinton (Dine),and Kevin Clinton; mother-in-law,Roberta Clinton, and numerous niece and nephews. Ron is preceded in death ny his parents,Wayne and Emma Sage; and father-in-law,Gordon Clinton. Ron lived his life to its fullest, enjoying competition, actively participating in motor cross racing, trail riding, golf, hunting, fishing and socializing.Forever young at heart, Ron continued enjoying these activities until the end, surrounding himself with friends and family doing what he loved. Memorial gathering and luncheon at the American Legion Post 175, Saranac,MI on Saturday,April 29th, from 1-4. There will be a Celebration of Life at Portland Trail Riders that will be announced later. Those wishing can make memorial contributions to Portland trail Riders in care of Sandy Lorenz, 673 W.Bath Rd, Morrice, MI 48857.
