All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Patricia Currigan currigan1932@comcast.net February 16, 2022, 9:21 am Lake Odessa Wave-Thursday March 14, 1968 Ramon Salas Passed Away Ramon Salas, 71, Jordan Lake Ave., a veteran Mexican serviceman, passed away Saturday afternoon at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital, where he had been hospitalized a week. he was born in Mexico April 16 1896, and came to the United States in 1914 and was a naturalized citizen. He had resided here for several years after the death of his wife in 1945. Mr.Salas was a member of St.Edward's Church and was employed by the Lake Odessa Canning Co. Surviving are two sons, Miguel of Ionia and George of lake Odessa; a daughter, Mrs.Lucio (Georgia) Rodriguez of Lake Odessa; 17 grandchildren and one great- grandchild. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St.Edward's Church. Rev. Fr. Raymond Moeggenberg officiated with burial in Lakeside Cemetery. The Rosary was recited Monday evening at 7 at the Pickens Chapel by relatives and friends.
