The Hastings Reminder, November 8, 2008

Daniel Matthew Salazar “Mad Dog”, age 35, of Lake Odessa, went to be with his 
Lord on Saturday, November 1, 2008.  Daniel was born on February 24, 1973 in 
Ionia.  He graduated from Lakewood High School in 1991.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mario and Maria Vela, and 
Bacilio and Gregoria Salazar.  Daniel is survived by his two sons, Joshua 
Salazar-Burnett of Grand Rapids and Daniel Salazar II of Sterling Heights; his 
parents, Pablo and Linda Salazar of Lake Odessa; brother, Paul (Becki) Salazar 
of Woodland; sister, Melissa Salazar (Hector Neri) of Lake Odessa; six nieces 
and nephews, Paul, Jessica, Megan, Elijah, Esteban and Hector; and by many 
more dear relatives and friends.

Daniel worked in construction for many years with many companies.  He worked 
very hard at every job, and completed each job with pride.  His passions in 
life were his family, his two dogs Chuco and Nico, and playing softball, 
whether on the field or supporting other teams.  He also enjoyed camping, 
golfing, basketball, and playing ping pong and pool. 

The funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at the Koops Funeral 
Chapel in Lake Odessa, with burial following at Lakeside Cemetery in Lake 
Odessa.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral 
expenses.
