The Hastings Reminder, Tuesdays, March 27, 1990
Mary J. Salerno, 94 of Clarksville and formerly of Clifton, New Jersey passed 
away Monday, March 19, 1990 at TenderCare nursing Home, Hastings.  Mrs. 
Salerno was born September 26, 1895 in Scotland, the daughter of Graham and 
Agnes (McMeechin) Currie.  She was married to Anthony Salerno in 1968.  He 
preceded her in death in 1986.  She lived and worked in New Jersey until 
moving to the Clarksville area in 1984.  

Mrs. Salerno is survived by four step children, Doris Bower of Elmwood Park, 
New Jersey, Barbara Perillo of East Hanover, New Jersey, Joan Cameron of West 
Rockaway, New Jersey and Louis Salerno of Parisippany, New Jersey; two 
nephews, Norman O’Connor of West Orange, New Jersey and Dennis O’Connor of 
Clarksville; one niece, Kay Carell of Portland, Oregon.

Graveside services were held Thursday, March 22 at the South Boston Cemetery.  
Arrangements were made by the Koops Funeral Chapel, Clarksville.
