Sentinel-Standard - Wednesday, Aug. 21, 1974

Robert L. Salin, 81, of Turk Lake, Greenville, died Wednesday at the St. Mary's 
hospital in Grand Rapids.

He was born January 26, 1893, in Grand Rapids and was a veteran of World War I.

He was superintendent of the Valley City Milling Company in Portland 49 years.

Surviving are the wife, Irma, known as Tiny; a son, Captain R.S. Salin with the 
Navy; daughter, Mianne, wife of Dr. Robert Coopes of Kalamazoo; ten 
grandchildren. 

funeral services will be Saturday at 3 pm at the Neller funeral home in 
Portland. Rev. George Fleming of Turk Lake Methodist church will officiate and 
interment will be in Portland cemetery.
