Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Mon. March 24, 1980

IONIA- Katherine M. Sallek, 78, of 403 Baldie St., Ionia, died at her residence 
Saturday morning.

She was born in Wola, Poland, Feb. 10, 1891, the daughter of Joseph and Mary 
Stoj Stephien.

Mrs. Sallek came to the United State in 1907. She married Michael Sallek in  
1912 in Trenton, N.J., and they moved to Ionia in  1913.

Mrs. Sallek was preceded in death by her husband in 1969 and her son, George, 
in 1973.

Mrs. Sallek was a member of the St. Peter and Paul Church and the Altar Rosray 
Society.

She is survived by two daughters, Helen of Caledonia and Mary of Ionia; one 
sister, Mrs. Hedwig Kazior of Trenton, N.J.; two grandsons and several nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. in the St. Peter and Paul Church, with Fr. 
William Reitz, celebrant, and Fr. Henry Dondzila and Msgr. Edward Jaworrowicz, 
con-celebrants, officiating. A parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday 
in the Leddick Funeral Home.

Friends and relatives may visit the family at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 
p.m. Monday.
