Salzman, 57, of St. Joseph passed away Thurs., April 11, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital following a massive heart attack. He was born on May 16, 1945 in Detroit, the son of Harry and Helen (Joslyn) Salzman. He graduated from Pershing High School, Detroit in 1964. He served two years in the Army at Camp Casey Korea during Vietnam. Charles married Darlene Griffin on Oct. 10, 1970 in Royal Oak. He was employed at Trelleborg in South Haven as a purchaser. He was an avid golfer, following the PGA tournaments and a lover and collector of many types of music. Surviving him are his wife, Darlene of 32 years; mother, Helen of Belding; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Suzanne Salzman of Grand Rapids; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Mel Hopkins of Grafton, Mass., his parents-in- law, Ken and Willie Griffin of Florida; and his nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his father, one sister and an infant brother. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday at Starks-Menchinger Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday. Interment will be in River Ridge Cemetery, Belding. Memorial contributions may be made to the Belding Museum or the Kidney Foundation of Michigan.
