John Frederick Samann, 76, of Orleans, formerly of Gowen, died suddenly Tuesday,
May 10, 2005, at Spectrum Health United Memorial United Campus emergency room,
Greenville.  He was born on Nov. 3, 1928, the son of Carl and Lila Lee Samann in
Mason.

He served with the United States Air Force from 1947 to 1950 and had been a
baker, last working at Meijer before his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgetta Waldron Samann, in 1993;
brother, Richard; and sister, Gene.  He is survived by his son, Andy Samann of
Orleans, formerly of Gowen; twin granddaughters, Alexandria and Elizabeth; and
brother, James Samann of Vermontville.

Graveside funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday at West Carmel Cemetery, Carmel
Township, Eaton County, with the Rev. Scott March officiating.  Hurst Funeral
Home, Greenville, is serving the family.
