Aged Woman of Saranac Dies at Soldiers’ Hospital

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Saranac for Mrs. Mary E. Sampson, 85, 
who died Monday at the Soldier’s Home hospital, Grand Rapids.

Mrs. Sampson had been an inmate of the home since she went there following 
destruction of the home of her daughter by fire.  She previously had lived with 
her daughter, being a resident of Saranac for about 12 years.

Funeral services were held from the Saranac chapel with burial in the family 
lot at Cascade.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ray Torpy and four grandchildren.
