Samuel Green, one of the first settlers in this town, died at his residence on section 18, on the 24th inst., after an illness of but one hour. He had suffered for many years with hernia, and after arising in the morning, was adjusting the injury, when he was seized with a violet pain which increased in intensity and resulted in death as stated. Mr. Green was about 75 years old, and had borne the brunt of a pioneer life without repining. He never occupied any official position, though he was well known and respected for his unassuming deportment. - The second number of our village paper was issued on Friday last, and is well regarded by our citizens.
