Carol Jane Sandborn, 71, of Crystal, formerly of Portland, passed away on 
Sunday Jan. 13, 2008.  She was born on June 1, 1936 in Milford the daughter of 
Clayton and Martha (Beck) Riley.  She enjoyed cooking, flowers, animals, 
watching the birds at their home on Duck Lake, and especially spending time 
with her grandchildren.

She married Marvin Sandborn on June 26, 1954 and they enjoyed 53 wonderful 
years together.

Also surviving are sons Brad (Diane) Sandborn and Jeff (Lynn) Sandborn, both 
of Portland; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; four great-
grandchildren; sister, Joyce (Robert) Phillips of Ionia; brother, Lee (Elaine) 
Riley of Roscommon.

Private family services have been held.  Arrangements were entrusted to the 
Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland.  In lieu of flowers, memorial 
contributions may be made to Carson City Hospice Services, 406 Elm St., Carson 
City, MI 48811.
