Sandborn, 95, of Sunfield, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013. She was born on May 1, 1918, in Portland, Mich., the daughter of Roy and Gertrude (Coon) Rogers. Mrs. Sandborn was a lifelong farmer, and was the treasurer at Sebewa High School. Fannie was active in 4-H clubs, the Farm Bureau, and was a member of the Womens Club in the Sebewa United Methodist Church. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, was a master gardener, enjoyed quilting, and antique collecting. On April 8, 1935 she married Melborn E. Sandborn, and he preceded her in death on July 4, 2007. Surviving are her children, John (Ann) Sandborn of Sunfield, Sharon (George) Zarka of Lansing, Cynthia Hefty of Ohio, and Luke (Jane) Sandborn of Sunfield; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; special friend, Walter Brown. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland, with Pastor Clare Huyck of the Sunfield United Methodist Church presiding. Interment will take place at Danby Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
