Sandborn, 82, of Ionia, died Wednesday, August 4, at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital. Born on April 30, 1911, the daughter of Charles and Myrtle (Bandfield) Miles, she married Allen Sandborn on June 15, 1929, in Portland. She was active in the American Red Cross Blood Donor Program at the area prisons, and was the Easton Township Clerk for more than 30 years. She was a resident of Ionia for 38 years. She is survived by three sons: Bruce and Robert, both of Sunfield, and James, of New Bern, N.C.; two sisters: Vivian Coe, of Portland, and Marian Croel, of Ionia; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen, in 1976; a daughter, Patricia Fox, in 1988; one son, Allen Jr., in 1989, and one brother, Richard Miles, in 1965. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 7, at the Cook Funeral Home, in Ionia, with the Rev. Donald Chapel officiating. Burial will be in Easton Cemetery. The family will be at the Rich St. Chapel from 2-4 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m. on Friday. A memorial has been established for the Kidney Foundation of Michigan. Pallbearers will be Lynn, James Jr., Lon, and Bruce Sandborn, Ron McDiarmid, Mike Hull and Alan Dase. Honorary pallbearers include Curt Swisher, Dale Porter, Bob Boyce, Gary Stobert, Roger Stobert, Mark Dawson and Albert Franco III.
