Sentinel-Std. - Monday, July 28, 1986

SARANAC- Earl F. Sandborn, 79, of 320 Summit Street, Saranac, died Friday in 
Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids.

He was born June 10, 1907, in Portland, the son of Fred and Dema Merchant 
Sandborn, He was a member and former post commander of the Saranac American 
Legion Post. He was also the first fire chief for the Village of Saranac.

He was married to the former Esther Barber in Ionia Nov. 9, 1937. She survives.

also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Cliff (Nancy) Whisler of Indiana; two 
grandchildren, and a sister, Thelma Shoenhair of Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. from the Lake Funeral Home, Saranac, 
with the Rev. Daniel Graybill officiating.

Burial will be in Saranac Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Starr Commonwealth.
