Anis B. Sandborn, 88, died Jan. 24 at her home in Portland.  She was born on 
Oct. 20, 1901 in Sebewa Township to John and Bertella (Bradley) Benschoter.

She is survived by six sons, Howard of Sunfield, Riley, Richard and Kendall of 
Portland, Luis of Jonesboro, Ark., and Gary of East Lansing; seven daughters, 
Maxine Volk and June Higbee of Eagle, Joyce Lyon of Mission, Texas, Janet 
Gilbert of Lake Odessa, Bonnie Jameson of Lansing; Judy McCrumb of Hastings and 
Betty Russell of Pewamo; 55 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; two great-
great grandchildren; and a special friend, Lois Miller.  She was preceded in 
death by her husband, Riley H., who died in 1983.

Visitation is Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday at 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 
p.m. at Neller Funeral Home.  Services will be held at the home on Saturday at 
1 p.m. with the Rev. Stanley Finkbeiner officiating.  Burial is at East Sebewa 
Cemetery.  Pall bearers are Joe Russell, Todd McCrumb, Michael Sandborn, Tom 
Jameson, Scott Sandborn and Steve Buche.  Honorary pallbearers are Dan 
Sandborn, Jerry Lyon, Tom, Ed and Dave Sandborn, John Higbee and Don Volk.
