The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, August 23, 1956


Albert Sander, 86, of 634 Prospect street, Ionia, died Thursday morning, August 
23 at 6 o’clock at the Eckert nursing home, where he had been a patient since 
March 17 of this year.

He was born in Germany, May 17, 1870 and came to the United States and to 
Michigan in 1883.  Mr. Sander and Mary Plath of Chicago, Ill., were married 
June 12, 1905 and resided at their home on Prospect street for the past 49 
years.  Mr. Sander was employed for many years at the former Ypsilanti-Reed 
Furniture Co. until his retirement.

Surviving are his wife, Mary, one nephew and six nieces.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, August 25 at 2 o’clock 
at the Boynton funeral home and the Rev. Eric Cash will officiate.  Interment 
will be in the family lot in Highland Park cemetery.

Funeral services for Albert Sander, 86, who died Wednesday morning, August 22, 
were held Saturday afternoon, August 25 at the Boynton funeral home, at 2 
o’clock.  The Rev. Eric Cash officiated and interment was in the family lot in 
Highland Park cemetery.

Bearers were Arthur F. Storch, John Gerhis, Richard Mallon, Albert Schroeder, 
Harold Holtz and Arthur F. Storch, Jr.

Relatives attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Storch Sr. of Mt. 
Clemens, Mrs. Emma Holtz of Lowell, Mr. and Mrs. John Gehris of Saginaw, Mr. 
and Mrs. Albert Schroeder of Birmingham and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mallon of 
Detroit.
