Richard Earl Sanders, 60, of Ionia, passed away July 23, 2000.  He was born 
Dec. 12, 1939, in Adrian, the son of William and Lena Belle Sanders.  He went 
on to marry Neola LaDonna Zeigler, Nov. 7, 1959 in Ionia.  Mr. Sanders retired 
from Frigidaire in Greenville in 1997 after 18 years.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Neola Sanders of Ionia; son, 
Richard “Rick” Sanders of Grand Rapids; daughters, Terru Sanders of Grand 
Rapids. Robin Sanders of Ionia, Barbara and Michael Nurenberg of Portland; 
grandchildren Amanda Weisberger of Portland, Justin Nurenberg of Portland, 
Brock Nurenberg of Portland, Joshua Holiday of Ionia; sister, Nancy Sanders of 
Kalamazoo, stepbrother, Duane Taylor of Jackson; stepsister, Sharon and Bill 
Hensley of Jackson; special sister and brother-in-law, Jack and Melva Kinsman 
of Ionia; special nieces and nephews, Little Jack, Paul, Ryan, RanAnn, all of 
Ionia; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, foster parents, Harvey and Ruby 
Silvernail, stepmom, Georgieanna Baldwin; son, Daniel Sanders and step brother, 
Robert Taylor.

Funeral services for Mr. Sanders will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2000 at 
p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.  Interment in Easton Cemetery.  
Visitation will be tonight from 7 until 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 until 4 
p.m. and 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
