Ionia County Shoppers Guide, 7 Jan 2006

Lavern R. Sargeant, age 77, of Ionia, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 
2005.  Surviving are his brother, Gordon Sargeant of Ionia; nieces; Gloria 
(Dave) Cook of Ionia and Georgia (Jim) Kennedy of Byron; nephew, Bruce Smith of 
Ames, Iowa; aunt, Irene Wood of Belding; good friend, Ellis Conley of Ionia; 
many cousins.  Funeral servces were held Wednesday, January 4 at the Schrauben-
Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia.  Interment will take place in the 
spring at Balcom Cemetery, Ionia.  For those desiring, memorial contributions 
may be made to the Ionia Moose Lodge, or to the Sheridan VFW Post #5065, in 
memory of Mr. Lavern R. Sargeant.
