Feb. 11, 1980 JOHN R. SARLOUIS IONIA - John R. Sarlouis, 79, ow W. Grand River Ave., Ionia, died Friday at Ionia Manor, where he had been a resident for the past 10 months. Mr. Saelouis was born Oct. 3, 1900 in Berlin Township, the son of Joseph and Minnie Schnabel Sarlouis. He attended the Coon School and worked at the Hayes Body Shop in Ionia. Mr. Sarlouis managed the Standard Station at M-66 and Grand river Avenue during World War II, and worked for many years on the family farm. Survivors include four brothers, a twin brother, Martin of Stowe, Ohio, Edgar of Haslett, Edward of Lake Odessa, and Bernard, of Ionia; and two sisters, Mrs.Clara Nelson, of Carson City, and Mrs. Josephine Hester, of Joliett, Ill.. He was a member of the SS. Peter and Paul Church, the Midway Fox Club and the Ionia fishing and Hunting Club. Tentative funeral arrangements at the SS. Peter and Paul Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Parish rosary will be said Monday at the Leddick Funeral home, and the family will be at the funeral home today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in the name of SS Peter and Paul Church.
