April 9, 1958 PAUL O. SAUERS lake Odessa- Paul O Sauers, 41, local businessman, died 4:30 a.m. at his home, 1068 Tupper Lake street, from a heart ailment. He was born May 27, 1916 in South haven, the son of the late Carl Sauers and Mrs. Jessie (Wolfe) Dressel. He was graduated from South Haven high school in 1935, and was married to Donna Scheidt on September 19, 1935 at Battle Creek. They moved to Lake Odessa in 1940. Mr. Sauers was employed by Fisher Body Corp. at Lansing for 11 years, and because of ill health took a leave of absence about two years ago. At the time of his death he was the operator of Duffy's recreation, a lunchroom in Lake Odessa. A Veteran of World War II, Mr. Sauers was a member of the American Legion and a member of the Moose Lodge of Ionia and of the Congregational church of Lake Odessa. He was active in the Democratic party. Surviving besides his wife are one daughter, Mrs. William (Toby) Hanson of Lake Odessa; two sons Monte of Lake Odessa and Pfc. Dennis who is serving with the Army in Korea; two grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Jessie Dressel of South Haven, and four sisters, Mrs Robert (Hazel) Westveld of Fennville, Mrs. Kenneth (Vera) Williams, Mrs. John (Aleen) Van Erkie and Mrs Adolph (Leta) Smith, all of South Haven. The body reposes at the Sauers residence. Funeral arrangements are pending word from the son in Korea. Additional Comments: Lakeside Cem.
