Savage, 57, Wednesday, March 10, at 4:40 a.m. after a week’s confinement in Sparrow hospital, Lansing, where he had been taken following a severe attack of an illness from which he had been suffering for about a year. Mr. Savage has been a resident of Lansing for about 12 years and until the week preceding his death had been employed as a carpenter at the Oldsmobile plant at Lansing. Surviving are the father, George Savage, of Muir; wife, Catherine; a son, George, at home; two sisters Mrs. Hattie Morgan of Muir and Mrs. Georgia Perry of Matherton; two foster daughters, Mrs. May Ferguson of Ionia and Mrs. Donna Jensen of Lansing; and a foster son, Norman Savage, aged 10, at home. Mr. Savage was born in Carson City and came to Ionia with his parents at the age of 19 where he resided until 1936, at which time he moved to Lansing. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Mar. 13, at 1 p.m. from Gorslin- Runciman funeral home. The Rev. E.E. Hoats of Pilgrims Congregational church of Lansing will officiate. Interment will be made in Mt. Hope cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Ferguson of Ionia, George Savage, Clifford Jensen and George Perry.
