WOODLAND-  Miles E. Sawdy, 87, of 187 N. Main Woodland, died on Nov. 24 at 
Pennock Hospital in Hastings.

He was born on Sept. 8,1893 in Woodland Township, the son of Edward and Flora 
(Hopkins) Sawdy.

He attended Woodland School and lived most of his life in the Woodland area.

He married Florence Vandlen on Nov. 26, 1917 in Woodland. She died Jan. 26, 
1960.

He married Grace Clem on April 17, 1960 in Clarksville.

He farmed and worked at the Lake Odessa Canning Company. He was also a janitor 
and bus driver for the Woodland School, he further worked at the Hastings 
Manufacturing Company, retiring in 1962.

He was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Brethren Church.

he is survived by his wife, Grace, three sons, Lloyd of Chugiak, Alaska, Edward 
of Hastings and Fred of Lake Odessa; three daughters, Mrs. William (Rosa Mae) 
Eddy of Hastings, Mrs. Vernon (Doris) Bjork of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Gordon 
(Irene) Norris of Hastings; four step-daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Ione) Pierce, Mrs. 
Vaughn (Mary) Lydy, Mrs. Philip (Yvonne) Bond and Mrs. Doris Strouse; all of 
Hastings; a sister, Mrs. James (Ruth) Britten of Hastings; 22 grandchildren; 18 
great-grandchildren; 14 step grandchildren; and 20 step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Tomorrow at the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake 
Odessa with the Rev. Lee Palmer officiating.

Burial will be in Woodland Memorial Park.,

A memorial has been established for the Pleasant Valley United Brethren Church.
