Alfreda Armada Sawdy, 60, of Lake Odessa, died Monday at Thornapple Manor in 
Hastings.  Sawdy was born on June 6, 1927 in Belding, the daughter of Charles 
and Naomi (Brooks) Woten, and was a graduate of Belding High School.  She 
married Carl Sawdy of Woodland on September 9, 1952, and was a long-time 
employee of Jolly Kids Company of Belding, and worked at the Lake Odessa 
Machine Products plant for 10 years.

She is survived by her husband and four children, Charles L. Lloyd of Lake 
Odessa, Donna M. Durkee of Lake Odessa, Linda Wearthraw of Pontiac and 
Clifford A. Sawdy of Belding.  Three sisters also survive her: Marlene Randell 
of Baldwin, Charlene Barrett of Grand Rapids and Judith Woten of Grand 
Rapids.  One brother, Paul Woten, preceded her in death.  Fourteen 
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and 
nephews, also survive her.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake 
Odessa.  The service will begin at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Duane Walter 
officiating.  Burial will be at the Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa.  
Memorials can be made in Sawdy’s name to the Lake Odessa Ambulance Service.  
the family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at 
the Koops Funeral Home.
