Arthur G. Sawtell, 71, of Lyons passed away Aug. 25, 2001 in Ionia.

He was born Feb. 27, 1930 in Ionia, the son of Joseph and Lettie (Chandler) 
Sawtell.  He went on to marry Carmon Nelson Nov. 24, 1955 in Ionia.

He was a member of First Christian Church of Muir and a veteran of the Korean 
War.

He is survived by his wife, Carmon Sawtell of Lyons; children, Kathy (Randy) 
Guernsey of Ionia and Cary (Jenny) Sawtell of Lyons; brother, Joseph Sawtell of 
Ionia; half-brother, David Miles of Six Lakes and Mile Miles of Lake Montcalm; 
sister, Theresa (Jack) Whitney; five grandchildren, Damien, Derek, Sam, Dustin 
and Kelsi.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Karen on June 21, 1996.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday at First Christian Church 
of Muir with Rev. Robert Girdwood officiating.  Arrangements were made by Lake 
Funeral Home in Muir.
