Ionia Daily Sentinel, Fri., Nov. 6, 1914
The remains of Maurice Sawyer, son of Mrs. Anna Sawyer, near Ionia, who was 
killed by a Michigan Central train at Battle Creek, was brought her and 
interment was made at Woodard Lake cemetery on Tuesday afternoon.

Edward Sawyer, 40 years of Battle Creek killed instantly attempting to hop a 
west-bound freight train.  Unmarried.  Worked as hack driver for Battle Creek
