The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, June 30, 1954

Mrs. Vernetta Sayers, 91, died Tuesday at 4:45 p.m.  She was born August 13, 
1862, in Ionia township.  She had lived her entire life in Ionia township and 
Muir.

Surviving are two sons, Howard and Glenn, a granddaughter, and a great-
granddaughter, all of Lansing, and a nephew, Arthur Baxter of Ionia.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Myers funeral 
home.  interment will be in Muir cemetery.

Subsequent Publication:  Saturday, July 3, 1954

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 from the Myers funeral 
home for Mrs. Vernetta Sayers, 91, who passed away Tuesday.  The Rev. George 
Rentschler officiated and interment was at the Muir cemetery.  Bearers were 
Walter Husted, Leslie Harvey, Charles Hatt and Harry Funk.

Attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Sayers, Mr. 
and Mrs. Howard Sayers, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Strickling, Miss Sherry Strickling, 
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hatt, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Harvey, Mrs. Lucille Biehrich, 
Mrs. Leona Keeler, Mrs. and Mrs. Harry Funk and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Waldron of 
Lansing, Walter Husted of Muir and Mr. and Mrs. Grover Truxell of Carson City.
