Ionia Sentinel-Standard - May 1, 2001

Thomas P. Sayers, 37, of Ionia passed away unexpectantly Sunday, April 29, 
2001, at Spectrum Health- Blodgett Campus in East Grand Rapids.

He was born the son of Robert and Phyllis (Fedewa) Sayers on June 20, 1963 in 
Ionia.

Tom loved his garden and was a big Dale Earnhardt fan. Tom worked with his dad 
in the family lumber business.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Phyllis Sayers of Ionia; one sister, 
Diane of Ionia; two brothers, Jim (Billie) of Ionia and John (Penny) of Ionia' 
his fiancé, Robin Hammer of Ionia' his loved and spoiled dog, Elizabeth; 
grandparents, Avis Fedewa and Eldena Sayers, both of Ionia; his aunts and 
uncles, cousins several nieces and nephews and one great niece. 

Tom was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Clifton Sayers and Leonard 
Fedewa; and two uncles, Russell and Floyd Sayers.

Memorial services for Tom are 3 p.m., Saturday at the Woodard Lake Cemetery, 
with Rev. Kenneth Harger from Shiloh Community Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers, you are asked to consider a memorial contribution to the 
Ionia Area Hospice or the American Diabetes Foundation in care of Cook Funeral 
Home in Ionia.
