Frances Enna Schaefer, 69, of Muir passed away June 5, 2012 in Lansing. She was 
born  Sept. 15, 1942 in Muir the daughter of Gerald and Helen (Gleason) 
Sherman. Frances married Kent Schaefer Sr. Aug. 20, 1960. He preceded her in 
death Oct. 24, 2001. She was a member of the Crazy Quilters Club.

Frances is survived by her children, Lori (JP) Clover of Ionia, Jackie (Bill) 
Ferris of Ionia, Tracy Shattuck of Muir, Jody Johnston and fiancée Rob Cherpes 
of Orleans and Kent Schaefer Jr. and fiancée Katie Rowland of Lyons; sister, 
Judy (Gary) Bishop of Muir; special friends Pam Nelson and Nancy Reeves; 16 
grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, the Friday Night Gang; and special 
dog, Lakota.

She was preceded in death by  her parents; husband; brothers, Pat Sherman and 
Larry Sherman; sisters, Betty Hanes, Shirley Benner, Nellie Kellogg and Norma 
Robinson; granddaughter, Jessica Ferris; and great grandchild, Caiden Neace.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 11 at Shiloh Community 
Church with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Visitation Monday noon until time 
of service at the church.

Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Muir. Anyone wishing may make a memorial 
contribution in Frances's name to Ionia County Animal Shelter. Online
