After lingering for several hours Mrs. George Schafer, who was fatally burned at her home on Cleveland street Monday morning about 8 o’clock, died about four o’clock Monday afternoon, as the result of her burns and shock resulting from the injuries. Physician stated that there was scarcely a square inch of flesh on Mrs. Schafer’s body that was not burned. While the burns were not deep, they extent of the burns precluded any possibility of recovery from the first. Both of the children, the 13 months’ old boy who was slightly burned about the face when his mother carried him from the home, and the two weeks’ old babe, who was overcome by smoke, but rescued, are reported all right today. The funeral of Mrs. Schafer will be held from the Methodist church Thursday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Charles J. Kruse officiating. Burial will take place in Highland Park cemetery. The body will remain at the Lowrey & Boynton undertaking rooms until the funeral because of the damaged condition of the home on Cleveland street. Mrs. Schafer leaves besides her husband, two children one 13 months and another four weeks, a mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. M. Tombs, south of the city, and four small brothers. She was 21 years of age. Burial will take place in Highland park cemetery.
