Born September 5, 1900 in Pewamo, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Wietzel. September 30, 1919, she was married in Pewamo to Guttlieb Schaefer. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic church and its altar society. She had lived in the Ionia area 26 years and in Ionia three years. She had previously lived on a farm near St. Johns. Surviving are her husband, Guttlieb; son, Carl Schaefer of Pewamo; three daughters, Mrs. Rosaline McMillan of Hubbardston, Mrs. Kathleen Eisler of St. Johns and Mrs. Monica Howard of Grand Rapids; 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, two brothers, John Wietzel of Ionia and Jacob of Greenville. Funeral mass at SS Peter and Paul church will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet cemetery. Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 8:30 pm at Myers-Roetman funeral home. Family will be at the funeral home Monday and Tuesday from 2 until 4 pm and 7 until 9 pm. Subsequent Publication: Friday, February 18, 1972 Requiem high mass was given by Msgr. Edward Jaworowicz at SS Peter and Paul church Wednesday at 11 am for Anna G. Schaefer who died Sunday at St. Johns. Interment was at Mt. Olivet cemetery. Bearers were Max Pinkney, Clayton Campbell, Louis Warner, Gerald Blundy, Douglas Campbell, Leo McMillan.
