Mary Catherine Scheaffer, age 87, of Hubbardston, passed away on Friday, May 
26, 2006 in Lansing at the St. Lawrence Hospice House. She was born June 15, 
1918 in Hubbardston to Thomas and Anna (Feyan) Hogan. On September 8, 1936 
Mary Catherine married Philip William Scheaffer in Hubbardston at the St. John 
the Baptist Church. She retired from Chrysler in Lyons, Michigan and enjoyed 
spending winters in Florida with her husband.

Mary Catherine is survived by eight children; Sister Lois Ann Scheaffer of 
Saginaw; Larry (Josie) Scheaffer of Lansing; Nancy Scheaffer-Duff (Robert) of 
Caledonia; Thomas (Phyllis) Scheaffer of Naples, Florida; Daniel (Brenda) 
Scheaffer of Ionia; Roland (Lorna) Scheaffer of Perry, Florida; Philip (Janet) 
Scheaffer of Grand Ledge; Diane (Robert) Weldon of Lansing; 23 grandchildren; 
27 great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Schineman of Lansing; brother, 
Michael (Camilla) Hogan of Hubbardston.  She was preceded in death by her 
parents; husband, Philip in 1998; brothers Gerald, Martin and Donald Hogan; 
daughter-in-law Patricia Scheaffer and grandson, Jonathan Weldon.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at 11 a.m. at St. 
John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hubbardston with the burial in the St. 
John the Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 
p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. at Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home in Carson City. 
Donations may be made to the Mid-Michigan Hospice.
