Sentinel Standard – Tuesday, 5 December 1944
Solemn high mass was offered Monday morning at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic 
church for Lee Schafer, 63, of 457 Rice Street with his nephew the Rev. Fr. 
Herman P. Fedewa, of Owosso as celebrant, the Rev. Fr. Edward Jaworowicz, 
assistant pastor at SS. Peter and Paul as deacon and the Rev. Fr. Michael  
Farrell of Belding as sub-deacons.  Also present was the Rev. George Esper of 
Fowler.  

A prayer service at the Bradley funeral home preceded the mass and burial was 
in the family lot in Mt. Olivet cemetery.  Pallbearers were Frank Wieczorek.  
Donald Pierce, Glenn Hooper, Chris Schrauben, Edward Haight, Jr., and William 
Powell.

Attending services from away besides all members of this immediate family with 
the exception of one daughter, Mrs. James Poole, Jr., were William Schafer of 
Detroit, Mr. Lena Fedewa, Paul Schafer, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Schafer and Joseph 
(unreadable) of Lansing; Mrs. John Jones of Howell, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. O’Dell, 
Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Sherwood, Mr. and Irwin R. (unreadable), Mrs. (unreadable) 
and Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Dewey of Grand Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin of Fowler.
