Funeral services for Albert Schafer, 86, of Pewamo, who died Saturday evening 
at 8:10 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John J. Fox, were held Tuesday 
morning at St. Joseph’s church.

Requiem high mass was sung at 9 o’clock by the Rev. Fr. Joseph Henige.  
Interment was at the St. Joseph’s cemetery in Pewamo.

Mr. Schafer was born July 20, 1868, in Canada and at the age of ten moved with 
his family to Fowler and lived in that vicinity all his life.  October 13, 1898 
he was married to the former Amelia Roll of Westphalia who preceded him in 
death in August of 1924.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Irene Fox, Mrs. Hildegarde Schafer and Mrs. 
Vera Cook all of Pewamo; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and one 
sister, Mrs. Lamena Brown of Detroit and one brother, Arnold Schafer, of Alma.  
A son, Norbert, died in 1936 and three other children died in infancy.
