Ionia Shopper's Guide-Sat. March 16, 2019

SCHAFER
Kathrina R. Schafer, 51 of Fenwick passed away Friday March 1, 2019 at Faith 
Hospice-Trillium Woods in Byron center. Kathina was born on May 15, 1967 in 
Ionia, the daughter of Keith and June (Griffin) Chambers. She graduated from 
Ionia High School with the Class of 1986. She had worked as a technician for 
Stanley Corp., an auto parts manufacturer in Ohio. 

She enjoyed shopping, especially looking for any item on clearance, riding 
her Honda motorcycle, trips to Lake Michigan and family time. She was a 
loving mother to her children and will be greatly missed but never forgotten. 
Kathina is loved and survived by her children: Shaun Dezwaan and Storm 
Dezwaan both of Ionia, her parents Keith and June Chambers of Fenwick, her 
siblings; Jennifer Root of Orleans, Jeremy (Christine) Chambers of Belding, 
several nieces, nephews and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her brother; Keith "Bub" Chambers, in keeping 
with her wish's cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held on 
Friday March 8, 2019 at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor 
Ken Harger officiating. A time of visitation with her family was Thursday 
from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Spring 
at Woodard Lake Cemetery.

 The family requests no flowers, please consider a memorial to Faith Hopice 
or Metro cancer center, envelopes will be available at the Sat at the funeral
