Sentinel-Std. - Friday, May 16, 1975

PORTLAND- Ronald R. Schafer, 35, of 2965 East David highway, Ionia, route 2, 
died Thursday at Sparrow hospital at Lansing following a brief illness.

He was born at Fowler, May3, 1940, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Schafer. He 
had been employed at Lansing at the Cooper Body shop.

Besides his wife, the former Marie Lause, he leaves a son, Ronald J. and 
daughter, Sarah, both at home; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Schafer of St. 
Johns, brother, Roman Schafer of Lyons; three sisters, Mrs. Arlene Phillips of 
Lansing, Mrs. Rosemary Stevens of Owosso and Mrs. Alice Stevens of Lansing. 

Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Patricks Catholic 
Church of Portland, of which he was a member. Fr. Donald Weber will officiate 
and interment will be at Holy Trinity cemetery at Fowler.

Rosary will be recited Sunday at 8 pm at the Neller Funeral home at Portland.

Bearers will be, Leon Schafer, Julius and Louis Schafer, Joe Hengesbach, William 
Brown and Lloyd Gensterblum.
